We get it. With the joy of the 4th of July behind us – you may be a feeling a little tired and even a little underwhelmed with what the rest of your summer brings. This week, we are bringing you our top 3 tips for making the rest of your summer the BEST of your summer! Enjoy!
#1: Plan one more get-a-way! The Bay Area is such an amazing place; you don’t have to leave for a tropical vacation to escape the daily grind. There are tons of place to explore and see within hours away. Consider a local get-a-way to Sonoma (those wineries!), a mid-week trek to Lake Tahoe (check out the new Tahoe East Shore Trail) or take the ferry to Sausalito. Just don’t forget to protect your home while you are away – Ordinary Traveler has some great tips!
#2: Reality check your real estate goals. Chances are you have goals and plans about the place you call home and what you want to do with it. If you have been waiting to move-up, refinance & remodel or relocate – this could be your chance! A mid-year review of your goals and your options is the ideal way to enjoy the present and end the year exactly where you want to be. Check out the latest REALTORS® Confidence Index Survey and consider the current rate environment as you evaluate your next best move (and of course let me know if I can help!).
#3: Make a difference in the life of a rescue animal. We often think of the holidays as a time to give, but there are humans and animals who need our support all year long. This is prime kitten season and shelters around the state are facing an influx of more tiny tots than they can handle. In addition, many animal care centers offer adoption discounts on senior animals (those aged 6 years or older) to encourage giving the best quality of life possible at any age (sound familiar?!). If you are looking to add to your family – we urge you to consider adopting not shopping from a local rescue, such as the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, the Humane Society Silicon Valley or the Tri-City Animal Shelter. There are also many other ways to support pets in need, such as attending a shelter’s annual fundraiser, making a one-time or on-going donation or providing volunteer or foster care services. Get the kids involved too!

Wishing you dog days of summer that make you want to wag your tail!
