Monday Market Update: The Functional Facets Of Entertaining

Fall Dining Room

Are you getting ready to host the holidays?! It’s no secret that some homes are built for entertaining more so than others… but changing your home’s layout is not an ideal solution a few days before the feast! So today we wanted to share 3 quick tips that make entertaining easier for everyone!

| Tell Your Guests Where To Park

Holidays can be stressful – especially if you show up with an armful of pies but a parking predicament! Be sure to communicate with guests if parking is only allowed in certain areas (such as in townhome communities), if nearby or walkable streets offer more plentiful parking (such as if you live on a court with limited street space) or what your best tips are for entering with ease!

| Mention Bathrooms & Bag Rooms

Okay… while not the glamorous parts of entertaining – these are the necessary ones. Make sure guests know where multiple facilities are located (as 20 people sharing one hall restroom can create chaos!) and be sure the coat room or rack is accessible and available for jackets, purses, diaper bags, etc. There may be many people who need to change into stretchy pants so beware of the baggage!

| Many Hands Make Light & Fun Work

Don’t be afraid to involve your guests in the fun and function of hosting a holiday! Offer an arm wrestling contest to see who the strongest person is to carry that turkey to the table. Find out who makes the best martini with a few rotating faces and hands at the bar; see if anyone resists the invitation to help you load up that dessert table! Many hands make light work… and many opportunities to be part of something are what make it memorable!

Cheers to an amazing table with plentiful food, grateful hearts and smiling faces!

All my best and all my thanks,
