The holidays are such a truly special time of year – a chance to gather with friends and family old and new, a time to count our blessings and share them too and a rare chance for many generations to gather in one place for one meal (or maybe a few!).
While there are tons of resources on how to prep your turkey and what activities the kids can do, there seems to be less discussion on ways to ensure that our seniors are accounted for as well! Our aging loved ones may need assistance with items related to medication, transportation, communication and dietary restrictions. They may need physical assistance with mobility, or social and emotional support due to dementia or Alzheimer’s.
With that in mind, we have compiled some great resources on how to make sure our seniors enjoy the holidays as much as the rest of us; please let us know if you have other ideas and resources too!
