Hello Readers!

I cannot believe that April is more than halfway behind us, and that Easter weekend is here. As a celebration that can be spiritual to many, I also find this an ideal time of reflection to check into our own belief systems and values. So often we see other holiday times of year as the ‘season of giving’, but what I love about Spring is the spirit of reflection. I encourage us all to take some time to reflect on the values and beliefs that we carry with us each day, and how that leaves a mark in our community and in the people around us (those we know, but moreover, those we don’t).

What do you value about how you reach out into the world? What footprints do you leave each day in making the world a kinder and gentler place? How does someone feel when you walk away?

While this may seem overwhelming, I encourage you to think about the small gestures you can do that make a big impact. You don’t have to start a charitable foundation or give a life-changing speech. You can simply open a door for someone whose hands are full. You can smile at someone who appears lonely. You can thank a community worker for their service. You can reach out to an old friend to say you are thinking of them.

May this weekend be a reminder to us all to live with gentleness, kindness and connection. The beauty in life may be found in not only what we choose to do, but how we react to what happens to us and how we give to those around us.

In that spirit I wish you a renewed spirit and a rekindled faith in the power of connection. We all need it!
