Memorial Day: Honoring The Fallen In Peace & War

Never forget the ultimate sacrifice.

In our pursuit of life with gratitude, we consider Memorial Day one of the most coveted and important observances of the year. As a day of remembrance, reflection and recognition for all who have fallen for our country, we would like to personally acknowledge the bravery and sacrifice of those we honor this day. What so many have given is never lost on us and never taken for granted.

When we talk about Memorial Day, we tend to think of times of conflict. Yet the reality is that service members also lose their lives in times of peace. Military conflicts have resulted in the loss of over 600,000 members of the US armed forces since WWI. In addition, over 60,000 military personnel have lost their lives on active duty from 1980-2022. The bottom line is that as long as there are people serving and honoring our nation, there will always be those who make the ultimate sacrifice.

We hope that this weekend you can observe these brave and selfless individuals in a way that is meaningful to you. Visiting cemeteries, attending Memorial Day services in your community and flying the flag at half-staff from sunrise to noon are time-honored traditions. Your family may wish to share memories of your lost service members or visit the family of a fallen soldier.

Whatever you do, we thank you for sharing in our deepest respect and highest remembrance of all who have given their lives to this great country.
