Monday Market Update: Steps You Can Take During Crime Prevention Month

You CAN Make a Difference

Did you know that in 1984, October was designated as Crime Prevention Month? In the decades since, the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) has been working with local law enforcement, government agencies, civic groups, schools and businesses, and other organizations to help them spread the word about crime prevention and personal safety.

The National Neighborhood Watch (NNW) reiterates that “with shrinking law enforcement budgets across the country, the role that each of us can play in preventing crime is more important than ever.” As such, we wanted to share with you some information about keeping your homes and neighborhoods safe, courtesy of the NNW and the National Sheriff’s Association.

HOW TO START A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH GROUP IN 5 EASY STEPS

Here you can find 5 steps to getting a neighborhood watch active in your local community. From recruiting neighbors to working with local law enforcement and taking action – these simple steps make safety a cinch!

Happy 4th of July! The Bobbi Decker Team would like to start off by wishing you all weekend celebrations that are safe, memorable and meaningful! As we welcome the holiday that commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence and our nation’s birth, we deeply honor our freedoms. The 4th of July typically represents the core values of freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the right to pursue happiness. As we embrace all that is possible when we let freedom ring, may we also be mindful of the impact of not honoring one another’s differences.
