Senior Spotlight: Top 10 Markets For Baby Boomers

Would you consider retiring in any of these cities?

A new month brings a new perspective… this time from lending and media publication Knock. A couple of weeks ago they released a list of the ‘Top 10 Housing Markets For Every Generation in 2022’ and we thought our readers might find the picks for Baby Boomers very interesting – check it out!

Knock’s 2022 Top 10 Housing Markets for Baby Boomers

According to Knock, these cities offer retirees both affordability and tax-friendly advantages. Cities on this list include characteristics such as:

| Access to good healthcare (plus 35% more primary care physicians per $100,000 residents!)

| Strong, diverse economies with opportunities for retirees to find part-time work

| Plentiful cultural and recreational activities

| An average savings of 75% less in sales tax, property taxes and inheritance taxes than the national average

| Ongoing educational opportunities as 9 out of 10 of these cities are college towns

| 1,000s of active adult communities in existence already

You will note that these cities are all fairly far from Silicon Valley, with the closest one being in Arizona. Do any of these cities and the features that come with them appeal to you? Are the benefits of your life, home and loved ones in the Bay Area the best reason for you to stay?

Please let us know if you need help weighing pros, cons and creative strategies to maximize your financial and lifestyle opportunities as you retire.
