Monday Market Update: Not All of the World’s Most Beautiful Small Towns Are Continents Away

Find 4 tiny but mighty cities right here in the US – and one less than two hours from Silicon Valley!

Charm. Grace. History. Views. If you are among the countless individuals who appreciate the character and culture of small-town style – this read is for you!

Earlier this month, Architectural Digest (AD) composed a list of the 50 top small-town getaways in the world. While we had no doubt that historic villages in Europe and ancient realms in Asia would make the list… we were also thrilled that 4 of the named winners were here in the US and one is among our own truly personal (and local!) favorite escapes!

We encourage you to read ‘The 50 Most Beautiful Small Towns in the World’ from AD and note that some of the cities are in countries you have seen featured on our blog before. For example, those considering an offshore retirement will note that Panama, Spain, France, Mexico and Colombia sound familiar… retiring in a country that also houses one of the of the world’s most beautiful cities? Yes please.

We have compiled the 4 US cities in the graphic below and encourage you to visit our very own top pick this summer – Carmel-By-The-Sea! This delightful town has been a true favorite of ours for decades – and especially in the years we spent with HoneyB as it is absolutely dog-friendly.

US Cities: Sedona, AZ; Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA; Sitka, AL; St. Augustine, FL.

Is there a small town you would love to see on this list? One that you just have to get to before year end? Please share – we would love to hear all about it!

Warmest wishes,
