Hello Friends! This is the week that fall arrives… and with it comes changing colors, counting down until the holidays and inspiring décor trends! Below we have summarized the key themes defining fall 2026 design according to Elle Décor, Veranda & Better Homes & Gardens. “From timeless palette revivals to innovative surface materials, designers are translating decor dreams into routines, rebrands, and blueprints.” Elle designers predict that moody vibes will be playfully displayed while dark wood makes a comeback. Walnut and espresso oak are a sultry contrast to plaster & stone in kitchens and baths. Another notable focus area is the entryway, as homeowners prepare to welcome guests for holidays; designers encourage attention to layered lighting (not just one fixture) to set the tone. Other fall trends are reflective surfaces (such as bronze mirrors), tinted glass, as well as tactile elements that showcase different materials. A lived-in rather than polished look is also a welcome shift.
“Get ready to embrace all things cozy, chic, and collected.” Designer at Veranda emphasize fall as a fresh start with the end of summer and back to school. They see this transition as one of even ‘greater importance’ than the start of the new year. Rich colors will reign such as chocolate brown, chestnut, carmel, gold, and warm ivory. Home accessories in heavy textures such as velvet, wool and mohair are a great way to incorporate these hues. Warm wood, round edges and perfection over imperfection are also key features. Think less symmetry and more storytelling in the way the home is presented. We like that!
“Bold color, big personality, and playful details are having a moment as designers dial up the fun this fall.” A 'major punch of pizzaz' is how BHG designers are describing décor themes for fall 2026. Curated, historical and even slightly cottage-vibes are making a comeback over sparse and minimalist themes of the past. A ‘chalet-chic’ trend invites exposed beams, stained millwork and natural stone to make their debut. A no-renovation needed approach to chalet-chic is saturated paint colors, bold plaids, stubby linens and buttery leathers in furniture and textiles. Layered spaces that tell stories, mixing modern art with antiques and transitional and maximalist styles are all expected to ‘have their moment.’

We especially love the focus on spaces as a reflection of our stories, and homes as lived-in with imperfection over perfection.
