Senior Spotlight: Top Retirement Expenses

“Lifestyle creep in retirement is a real thing.” ~ Nick Covyeau, Certified Financial Planner

Planning for the expenses of retirement is a moving target – especially with the cost of living rising. A read published in AARP last month outlines the 10 biggest expenses in retirement according to four financial planners. These costs are a balance of the everyday needs of a household as well as the extraordinary things one has been saving for (daily golf, international travel, that dream master bath!).

The Bobbi Decker Real Estate Team has created an infographic below which lists the top 10 things that retirees are most likely to spend money on and utilize their portfolios for. We encourage you to read the article “10 Biggest Expenses in Retirement” from AARP here for a deeper dive into what each cost entails and how it can surprise you.

As always, we hope that this list provides informational empowerment and not fear or concern. We believe that if you know what to expect and hedge on the side of overestimating rather than underestimating expenses, you will better be able to plan and protect your future. You deserve all the amazing things that await!

Best wishes,

Bobbi
