Safe Travel Tips for Older Adults (National Council On Aging)
Safety first. It may not be the most glamorous of things to think about, but it is the most important. At the end of 2025, the National Council On Aging updated their safe travel tips for older adults including reminders such as knowing the TSA rules, not posting travel on social media, selecting a hotel that meets your needs and more. Start here.
While we are not endorsing any particular products, we like that this read is inspired by a 76-year old couple who loves to cruise! We personally believe that compression socks and pill organizers can be very important (talk to your doctor!) and the ideas for travel organizers in small spaces and wrinkle-free clothing types may appeal to you even if you seek your own preferences for these items. Peek at their packing list here.
10 Discounts Seniors Can Use to Cut Travel Costs (Yahoo!)
Did you know that participating locations of hotel brands such as Best Western & Marriott offer seniors discounted rooms of 15% off? Other hotel brands offer 6-10% off, with qualifying ages starting at 55, 60 or 62 depending on the hotel chain. Trains, airlines & rental cars may also offer senior discounts, but often do not publish these offers online so calling is always the best way to verify. Don’t miss the Senior Pass from the National Park Service which is $80 (lifetime) or $20 annually – and provides access to hundreds of recreation sites managed by these six federal agencies: National Park Service, US Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, US Forest Service, and the US Army Corps of Engineers. See more discount ideas here.
The only question we have for you is… where are you going next? (Reach out and we’ll share why the East coast is calling for us!)
