Monday Market Update: California Housing Sentiment Index Rises 5 Points

NEW CAR® infographic on how Californians are feeling about housing!

We hope that December is turning out to be a joyful and comforting time for you and those you love! As you hopefully spend a few moments savoring all that is home, you may be pleased to know that a positive housing outlook appears to be on the forefront of many in our state this month. The November 2021 Housing Sentiment Index has risen 5 points from October, with small increases in beliefs that it is a good time to sell a home, that economic conditions will improve in the next 12 months and more (see infographic below).

The interesting point to watch is interest rates; according to the survey there was a small increase (though still only 26%) among those who believed interest rates will fall. Many sources are projecting 1-2 rate increases by end of 2022, while some believe it could be held off until 2023 (read more on MarketWatch here).

The most important sentiments to think about this month… are your own! In a season where home, friends and family rise to the forefront of our minds – may we embrace the present and look forward to the future, whatever that means in real estate & otherwise to you!
