Senior Spotlight: Guess Who’s Most Optimistic About The Housing Market?

A recent Opendoor survey reveals who is most optimistic about selling and buying... do you have any guesses?

The bright side. The glass half full. The silver lining. The good stuff. That’s right – this week’s Senior Spotlight is about optimism and guess who has the most of it when it comes to selling in this housing market?!

The Baby Boomers!

In a survey reported by Opendoor last week, 71% of Americans indicated now is a good time to sell a home. Moreover, the survey reported that Baby Boomers are the most optimistic about the current market, with 84% indicating that now is a great time to sell.

ADDITIONAL DATA:

| Consumers of all ages agree that ‘the housing market is hot right now, that inventory is low, and that sellers are turning significant profits.’

| With regards to the next 12 months, 37% of Baby Boomers think the market will thrive for the next year, a belief more enthusiastically shared by 49% of Gen Xers and 54% of Millennials.

| 36% of consumers across generations cited their top concern was getting the price they needed on a home, followed by 32% of consumers worried about finding their next home.

| While Boomers were most optimistic about selling, Millennials were ‘far & away’ the most upbeat about buying – with 80% believing a home purchase today makes a good investment followed by 75% of Gen Xers and 57% of Baby Boomers.
