Over Halfway To Bobbi’s Never Give Up Team Goal!

Wow! What a week it has been; heading into this week after speaking at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life has felt amazing. And the only thing better than trying to support and touch other lives fighting cancer is receiving the same care from you! I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has sent words of encouragement, shared their own stories and donated to Bobbi’s Never Give Up Team. With your help, we are almost 65% of the way to our goal. I could not have done it without you – and am so glad I did not have to!

Fighting cancer for the fourth time often feels like so much has been taken – and the biggest loss has been that of purpose.  This opportunity to speak at Relay For Life and to create a team raising funds to support cancer patients has given me back much of what I have been missing. I am grateful to all of you who have joined my team and passed along the spirit of care, love and camaraderie.

For those looking for our usual Senior Spotlight this week, I wanted to share a fact with you about age and cancer that reiterates how unfortunately common the cancer experience is. By age 85, 1/3 of all men and 1/4 of all women are living with a history of cancer. By the year 2040, the number of cancer survivors over age 85 is expected to reach nearly 4.7 million.

May we continue to see and support those fighting cancer today, those living with the treatment of yesterday and those who may battle this beast in their future. Together – we can get through it!
