Monday Market Update: Curb Appeal / Best & Worst

Curb appeal can not only make or break your ROI – but your relationship with your neighbors!

Just two days ago, Real Simple magazine revealed the results of a curb appeal survey conducted by Thumbtack and NextDoor after surveying 1,000 homeowners across the nation. We’ve compiled the ‘best’ and ‘worst’ features of curb appeal below – but we also wanted to share one highlight that surprised even us (and we thought we have see it all!).

According to the survey, maintaining the exterior of your home is not just an individual task. Surprisingly, 81% of homeowners reported that they collaborated with neighbors on shared projects and initiatives! Plus 44% of these surveyed have offered to help their neighbors with a front yard clean-up task. This supports the dual benefit of prioritizing strong curb appeal in your home. It not only creates a solid (and higher value) first impression for prospective homebuyers, it improves the relationship you have with your neighbors.

Better together isn’t just an expression – it’s apparently a way to describe how connection supports pride in how your home looks and feels at a glance.

Have you ever collaborated with your community on shared improvements? Offered to help a neighbor with some exterior upkeep? We’d love to hear all about it!

Have a great week,

Bobbi
